These transformations have changed the way institutions are perceived by the public and led to the articulation of their work with the community and the territory. This is done based on the dissemination of cultural information and the implementation of cultural mediation strategies, which aim to create inclusive, participatory, dynamic and reflective spaces for dialogue. In this sense, this dissertation work consists of an analysis of cultural mediation of the Conviv'Art Gallery - cultural equipment of the Center for Art and Culture (NAC) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) - by exploring dialogues and strategies to expand the access of the university community to the artistic exhibitions held in the cultural space. Therefore, its general objective is to reflect on the importance of cultural mediation as an essential resource to promote gallery access and knowledge. The specific objectives are: to characterize the Conviv'Art Gallery and its respective historical-organizational and cultural elements, to identify the main factors that contribute to the low visitation of the public and to develop an intervention proposal to stimulate the participation of the university public in the gallery's events. The methodological path relied on empirical research that was theoretically based on statements by authors such as Strey (2002); Perrotti; Pieruccini (2014); Rasteli; Cavalcante (2014); Araújo et al (2020), among others, with the reading of articles from journals, books and databases such as Scopus, Scielo, Brapci, Google Scholar. A questionnaire was applied (10 objective questions and 01 subjective question at the end), directed to the institutional public, from which information was collected from 560 respondents, which characterized an exploratory, descriptive, quantitative and qualitative research. Through content analysis, 4 categories of analysis were created: Recognition and Disclosure; Logistics and Accessibility; Programming and Complementary Activities; Strengthening the Relationship with the Academic Community. The Intervention Proposal contributes with the products entitled MediArte: Connection and Dialogue Strategies at the Conviv'Art Gallery, which proposes strengthening the dialogue between art and academia is fundamental to strengthening the gallery as a space for training, expression and intellectual development, contributing significantly to the construction of a critical and participatory society.
