The general objective seeks to analyze the importance of playfulness as a pedagogical methodology, its contributions to the teaching-learning process of children, and the challenges in applying this approach in the educational context. The methodology was conducted through bibliographical surveys, through online texts and books about theorists and authors who address this theme, and qualitative research, through a questionnaire applied to educators working at a municipal Early Childhood Education institution. The results of the research demonstrate that, despite the challenges, teachers recognize playfulness as an indispensable tool for learning. However, the challenges faced in its implementation require deep reflection and concrete actions on the part of educators and managers.
