It seeks to shed light on the debate based on the interconnection between the phenomenon of the appropriation of women, the formation of the sphere of social reproduction, and the structuring of the prison issue in the Brazilian context. To this end, a literature review on the subject was conducted, relating it to data from reality, specifically the increasing incarceration caused by the process of criminalization of illicit psychoactive substances in our country. The data show that this context affects the lives of female family members of men deprived of liberty, who are forced to seek to fulfill a set of caregiving tasks.
