The proposal arose from the realization that, in the literature, these sites were treated in a generalist way and often neglected as potential geosites. Based on a bibliographic analysis in Scopus, studies were identified that already highlight aesthetics as a relevant value in the evaluation of geopatrimony, reinforcing its role in the cognitive and sensory perception of the landscape. Criteria were then defined, divided into core values (scientific and aesthetic) and additional values (tourist, cultural and didactic), based on international references and organized into field sheets. Applying the methodology required an understanding of the geoenvironmental analysis of Rio Grande do Norte, covering geological, geomorphological, pedological, hydrological and climatic aspects. The sheets were applied to 16 viewpoints, highlighting 13 geosites and 3 geodiversity sites, which showed the physical diversity of the state and the differences between the contexts analyzed.
