The research discusses the concepts of competencies and their various dimensions (knowledge, skills, and attitudes), recognizing both progress and shortcomings in the development of these capabilities. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study included a brief analysis of the training programs of the two institutions, a literature review, and a questionnaire directed at the tour guides. The findings highlighted the importance of technical training, but also pointed out the need for better integration between theory and practice, as well as the inclusion of updated content that meets the demands of the tourism market.
