The systematic review of the literature, in the repositoy of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, allowed the classification of the studies already carried out in system and the concomitant definition of the object of this monograph. Thus, a primary data collection, through a questionary was carried out with computer superintendence manager with the purpose of answering the following question: how are information security practices adopted in information of the UFRN in the fight against virtual threats? The results indicate that computer superintendence, not only meets the technical criteria indicated in the specialized literature regarding information security, but also innovate in terms of adoption of procedures in relation to meeting the daily demands that reach the sector.
