The use of geosynthetics in asphalt pavements has gained prominence in civil engineering due to their ability to improve the durability and performance of pavements. This study evaluates the mechanical damage of geosynthetics applied in asphalt coatings through a review of the existing literature on the subject. The research investigates the types of mechanical damages that geosynthetics suffer in pavements and assesses the effectiveness of these materials in preventing cracks and other pathologies. To this end, a comprehensive bibliographic research was conducted, utilizing scientific databases such as the CAPES Journal Portal, Science Direct, and SCIELO. The selection of documents included 20 relevant studies that address the application of geosynthetics in the recovery of asphalt pavements. The results indicate that geosynthetics are an effective solution for improving the durability and performance of pavements, corroborating previous studies. The analysis reveals that the introduction of geosynthetics contributes to a better distribution of applied loads, reducing stresses in the subgrade and prolonging the pavement's lifespan.
