Concepção das antenas internas e análise eletromagnética do Osseus, um equipamento de diagnóstico e triagem de pacientes para osteoporose. 2021. 76f. Tese (Doutorado em Engenharia Elétrica e de Computação) - Centro de Tecnologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2021.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/46640Osteoporosis is a sistemic osteometabolic disease, wich targets a increasingly portion of the brasilian population, that generates significant costs to the “Unique System of Health” (SUS) of Brasil. However, with a previous diagnosis, it’s possible to deploy preventive measures that may avoid the occurrence of fractures and reduce the costs of SUS. In order to enable the required exams to identify the pathology and watch its evolution during the treatment, mantaining the agility and low costs, the Osseus development was proposed, a instrument witch combines techniques and concepts of a sort of areas, such as: software engineering, electrical engineering, eletronical engineering, computer engineering and biomedical engineering. Besides that, the equipment was proposed to the developed as low cost, so it would be of easy access to the population and to be not invasive, as developed at the “Laboratory of Technological Innovation in Health” (LAIS). The last version of Osseus before this work, the 3.0 version, has shown some issues that hinder its implementation. Those issues are related to some working instabilities observed in the Radio Frequency (RF) Antennas part, witch are microstrip planar antennas. Therefore, this work proposes new antennas to be installed in Osseus, in order to eliminate those instabilities and improve the radiation characteristics that are relevant to the equipment. To achieve the mentioned improvements, it’s proposed an antenna array with two parallel elements, aiming miniaturization to reduce the dimensions of the equipment, in addition to improving its directivity. The results obtained with this new proposal of the Osseus will be compared with the results obtained with current version. It’s expected to improve the equipment and provide a low cost device, helping the LAIS to fulfill its mission that is making science an instrument of love for other people.
