As part of the third sector, ONGs play a significant role in society, as they enable children and teenagers from different backgrounds to learn an instrument and build their own future prospects. Based on my work and the point of view of some key authors throughout the process of writing this report, I try to present my experience in order to explain the role of the music educator in ONGs, based on the concepts that permeate music education and its social role. In the ONGs environment, the music educator will always be more than a teacher, taking on the role of human formation for the students.
