Therefore, its influence on culture, economy, leisure and body expression is undeniable, since it is present in practically all segments of society, occupying significant spaces in the media and in the daily life of the general population, bringing together numerous practitioners and / or spectators. Objective: To analyze the opinion of Physical Education teachers who work directly with the teaching of sports modalities for children and adolescents in schools in the city of Natal / RN, in order to understand whether or not there are benefits for the social development of their practitioners. Methods: This study consists of a combination of bibliographic research with field research, of a qualitative nature, making use of a questionnaire for data collection and literature review involving the theme worked on. Results: In all, nine Physical Education teachers who work with sports in the school environment participated in the research voluntarily, undergoing the resolution of the questionnaire. Teachers from all basic education networks and segments are present in this study. Unanimously, all respondents stated that there are benefits in the social development of practitioners of sports in the school environment, giving them a high degree of importance.
