The analysis is based on Educational Sociolinguistics, especially regarding the continuum of stylistic monitoring, and in Variationist Sociolinguistics, especially regarding identity construction. Through a qualitative and documental methodology, seven exercises were analyzed. Five of them were extracted from the 2018 edition of the textbook Português: linguagens, published by Saraiva Publishing House, and two from the 2022 edition of the same book.
