TCC (Graduação) - Curso de Enfermagem, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Santa Cruz, 2018.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/38646Introduction: This study aimed to identify the factors that influence the effectiveness of breastfeeding in the first days of the child's life, aiming at the analysis of these factors in the first fifteen days of the newborn, describing the sociodemographic data of the participants, verifying the influence of the obstetric history and the Prenatal care in the breastfeeding process and identify influence related to this process from previous experience and people from the community. Method: a quantitative cross-sectional study developed with 28 puerperal patients attended in the Primary Care of the northern Caicó (RN) during the first 15 days of puerperium, in three stages: a survey of participants included in the study; data collection between March and May 2018 through a structured questionnaire; and analysis of the data collected with presentation of the results. Results: The study demonstrates that several factors related to the effectiveness of breastfeeding, being related to environmental, maternal and newborn aspects can influence from birth to six months of the child's life.
