Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Bacharelado em Enfermagem) - Departamento de Enfermagem, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2023.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/55336This research aims to study cases of Suicidal Ideation (SI) developed in patients undergoing Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT) in a highly complex reference service in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The objective was to identify the development of Suicidal Ideations in these patients. This is a study with a quantitative approach, with a cross-sectional design. Data collection was carried out using two questionnaires, one that addressed the epidemiological characteristics (sociodemographic and clinical) related to Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and another questionnaire called Self-Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ-20), which investigated Common Mental Disorder (TMC). The Research Protocol for this study was approved by the Ethics and Research Committee, under opinion 4.249.371 and CAAE 35199320.5.0000.5537. Among the 91 study participants, 11 had Suicidal Ideation (12.0%). Of these, 72.6% are between 20 and 59 years of age, 72.7% are male and 81.8% declare themselves to be mixed race. Among the underlying diseases presented, Multiple Myeloma stands out, with 54.5%, in addition, 54.5% underwent autologous transplantation, of which, 100% used hematopoietic progenitor cells collected through peripheral blood. Among the toxicities developed, nausea stood out with 100% of participants, 91.0% vomiting, 91.0% changes in taste, 100% developed Graft Versus Host Disease (GVHD). Regarding the SRQ-20 variables, 72.7% had a lack of appetite, 91.0% felt nervous, tense or worried and 54.5% cried more frequently. Therefore, it is concluded that the present study is relevant, considering that it deals with a current topic that highlights a public health problem in a specific population and draws the attention of the multidisciplinary team that works in Stem Cell Transplant services.
