In view of the inadequate disposal of cassava wastewater, its potential as fertilizer, the need for search for new sustainable practices to meet agronomic demands and the concern to increase the income of rural producers, the present study aimed to assess growth of elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schum.) cv. Cameroon under increasing doses of cassava wastewater. The experiment was conducted at the Agricultural School of Jundiaí, the experimental design was in randomized blocks, with five treatments and four replications. The treatments applied were increasing doses of cassava wastewater (0, 20, 40, 60, 80 m3 ha-1 ). Two cuts were performed every 75 days to evaluate the following variables: plant height, stem diameter, number of tillers, fresh matter production and dry matter production. A positive linear correlation was obtained between the increase in the cassava wastewater dose and the variables: plant height, stem diameter, fresh and dry mass production. Cassava wastewater can be used as organic fertilizer in elephant grass cv. Cameroon aiming at improvements in productive characteristics, as it provided greater gain in height, greater stem diameter, greater production of fresh matter and dry matter, when the dose of 80 m3 ha-1 was used.ForragemProdução orgânicaSustentabilidadeFodderOrganic productionSustainabilitybachelorThesis
