The objective of this study is to understand the representation and dissemination of the idea of kindergartens in the newspapers “A Ordem” and “Diário de Natal” and in magazines Pedagogium in Natal between the 1930s and 1950s. It is intended to investigate how educational spaces were portrayed and publicized by the media of the time, taking into account the social, cultural and educational aspects involved. In order to reach the proposed objective, a research based on document analysis will be carried out, using as a source the local press of Natal, the newspapers and magazines already mentioned from the period from 1930 to 1950. Publications that made direct or indirect reference to kindergartens were selected, taking into account announcements, reports, articles and other records that address this subject. The approach to the collected materials will occur through a bibliographical research to analyze the representations of kindergartens in the printed matter, through readings and reasoned discussions based on these authors Mendes (2011 and 2015), Barros (2021), Azevedo, Pessoa and Neta (2019), Funklin and Aguiar (2018), Nascimento (2006), Ribeiro (2003) among others.
