Cities now account for most of the world's population, and as a consequence, a several social, urban, and environmental problems are intrinsic in large centers. In this scenery, the informal occupations that sometimes become slums and in some cases occupy areas of risk and/or environmental protection, further aggravate the problem. Looks like Suzane Parternak (2008), Paola Berestein Jacques (2001) and Tales Lobosco (2009) open the discussions to a new understanding of these agglomerates. Occupations such as the Community of Passo da Pátria, located in the East Zone of Natal/RN, constitute a reality already consolidated throughout the brazilian territory. Although characterized by a deficiency of public equipments, urban infrastructure and the environmental quality of their buildings, communities like these are rich in their urbanity, multiplicity of relationships and community cohesion. In this sense, when proposing an intervention project for this area based on information collected superficially, the desired results are compromised. Like this, the objective of urban requalification for this community is based on the use of the consultative-cooperative method, which is essentially empirical and allows, in addition to a technical reading, an approach to the desires and needs about by the various agents involved in the process. In addition, in order to obtain a good interaction between the Planning and Urban Design phases, we obtain a panorama about the area that immediately make up the guideline plan, which in turn are aligned in three axes of actions that meet to the desired intervention scales: the house, the street and the community.
