Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Enfermagem) - Departamento de Enfermagem, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2023.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/55549Objective: To describe the sociodemographic and clinical characteristics of mothers and neonates. The data was transcribed to a database through Microsoft Office Excel and Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software, which were then exposed in tables. This study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte under the number CAAE 23720419.5.0000.5537. Results: The analysis revealed a prevalence of parents aged between 18 and 30 years with complete secondary education, residents of the interior of the state, who had five to ten prenatal consultations, and their main reasons for hospitalization were: diabetes mellitus gestational and gestational hypertension. As for newborns, there was a prevalence of males weighing less than 2500g, preterm births, cesarean sections, and an APGAR score of 8 to 10. Lung discomfort was the most prevalent cause of neonatal hospitalization. Conclusion: It is understood that the characterization of parents and newborns admitted to the NICU can contribute to the development of health promotion and prevention actions and to support nursing care.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/deed.pt-brUnidades de Terapia Intensiva Neonatalrecém-nascidomãesenfermagemCaracterização de genitoras e neonatos internados em uma unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal: estudo transversalCharacterization of mothers and neonates admitted to a neonatal intensive care unit: cross-sectional studybachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ENFERMAGEM::ENFERMAGEM DE SAUDE PUBLICA
