Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Educação Física) - Departamento de Educação Física, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/61329Supplements are defined as products that are produced mainly from proteins; amino acids; carbohydrates; minerals and vitamins. They are mostly consumed by athletes seeking to improve their health, appearance and physical performance. However, there are still doubts about their impacts, especially on hypertrophy and weight loss. Thus, this review aims to verify the real impacts of the use of sports supplements in relation to the hypertrophy process. The keywords used were: muscle hypertrophy, dietary supplementation, and their respective terms in English. The databases consulted were SciELO and PubMed. A total of 686 articles were found. Of these, 9 articles were selected for full reading and brought for discussion. Not all dietary supplements can significantly impact muscle hypertrophy; however, those that did not have a significant impact still had a greater impact than the placebo group, and supplements such as protein and creatine showed their impact on muscle hypertrophy in a significant way.HipertrofiaSuplementos alimentaresImpactoHypertrophyDietary supplementationImpactO uso da suplementação alimentar e seus impactos na hipertrofia muscular: uma revisão literáriaThe use of dietary supplements and their impacts on muscle hypertrophy: a literary reviewbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE
