This is a scoping review conducted in accordance withtheJoanna Briggs Institute (JBI) method for scoping reviews and using the recommendationsofthe Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA-SCR). The databases used to develop the review were: Latin American and Caribbean LiteratureinHealth Sciences (LILACS) and Medical Literature Analysis Retrieval SystemOnline(MEDLINE) through the search resource PUBMED, Nursing Database ( BDENF) andScientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), in addition, searches were carried out inthegray literature through Google Scholar (Google Scholar) in order to increase the scope of thestudy. Given the particularities of the Brazilian health system and the health policies that surround it, it was necessary to limit the studies to national publications to meet the objectiveof the review. Thirteen studies were included in this review according to the eligibilityandexclusion criteria. The data collection period was between December 2023 and February2024. From reading the selected studies and identifying the skills that each one brings, the followingcategories emerged1) Health education practices, 2) Welcoming and bonding, 3) Professional autonomy, and 4) Comprehensive care for pregnant women. Considering the need tovalueprofessional practice through a technical and scientific basis and the visibilityof theprofession through scientific publications, it is clear that there are gaps in knowledge about the most diverse roles that nurses perform in healthcare for pregnant women.
