Serra Negra do Norte enjoys several tourist potentials, which can be in the most diverse tourist segments: adventure tourism, sports, business and cultural events, in addition to having a relatively preserved architectural structure, preserving the historical and cultural heritage of the municipality. Serra Negra do Norte is a city with a strategic location bordering the State of Paraíba, attracting tourists from both Rio Grande do Norte and also from other neighboring States, as well as from the whole country. It has an economic development that has been built over the years, with bone making as its central economic activity. The city has an estimated more than thirty cap factories that contribute to the city's working capital, in addition to contribute to the socioeconomic development of the city's inhabitants. In order to present the tourist potential of the city so that its managers can develop local and sustainable tourism, the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), prepared an inventory of the tourist offer, updated 2022 edition. The methodology used was developed by professors and students of the Laboratory of Research and Tourism Studies (LAPET). The field research was carried out in person in the city, through interviews and technical visits to tourist attractions in the city.
