Methodology: It is an exploratory study of a qualitative nature, developed from the perspective of a case study focusing on a group of professionals. It involved professionals from two Basic Health Units (BHU) and the management and coordination of Basic Health Care of the Municipal Health Secretary (MHS). The information was collected through semi-structured interviews and the methodological reference of the focus group, which were analyzed through the technique of Bardin content analysis and discussed in the light of theoretical references of collective health and nutrition Science. Results and discussion: Thirteen cores of meaning were identified and grouped into five themes, namely: Prevention and control of micronutrient deficiency; Management of food and nutrition actions: The absence and insufficiency of materials and inputs; Assessment of nutritional status and feeding practices: numbers that do not provide information; Clinic Expanded to the person with obesity: challenges and obstacles in the conformation of care lines in nutritional attention; and the intersectorality and integrality of care: challenges for the implementation of the Nutritional Care Network.
