Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Licenciatura em Música) - Escola de Música, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2023.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/53061The present research seeks to investigate the participants’ perceptions of the university choir Madrigal from UFRN as a space for musical learning, as well as to improve the knowledge about the importance of choral singing and systematically analyze its characteristics in the university context. For the accomplishment of this work, it was undertaken a bibliographic review about the choral practice, a mapping about the university choirs in Brazil and the historical aspects of the Madrigal from UFRN. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire, using the Google Forms platform, applied to participants and former participants of the group in the period from 2018 to 2023. The results, obtained through the questionnaire, revealed that a large proportion of Madrigal participants developed musical and extra musical skills. Thus, it was evidenced that the Madrigal choir generates significant benefits for its members in musical development, as well as a positive impact on other aspects of their lives.
