For the Federal Highway Police, this study will serve as a basis for improving footwear, since in 2015 an investment was made to manufacture a new uniform, including operational footwear. This study was carried out using two shoes with 15 (fifteen) days of use, to compare with other new, unused shoes. It was observed that the shoe during use presented deformities in its structure, such as tearing of the seam at points that suffer great stress, especially in the region of the barrel, where the mooring hooks are located, as well as between the seam between the external and the internal parts. of the pipe. In view of these results, the seam allowance and the type of stitch used in that region were analyzed. The seam allowance was measured using a millimeter ruler, while the type of stitch was checked which stitch was used, in order to verify if it is a stress resistant stitch. Color variation in the shoe was also observed, so tests were carried out to analyze the color change of the fabric, using a reflectance spectrophotometer, the regions of the barrel, tongue and collar were analyzed, as well as a hydrophobicity test in seven sections of the new shoes, which encompasses the inside and outside of the shoe, with the purpose of verifying whether the shoe meets the liquid repellency property.
