Acesso em: 10 dez. 2020.0103-2410https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/31078In this research was held the physicochemical characterization of Diogo Lopes Estuary sand-muddy banks, as well as the assessment of major and trace elements concentrations in sediments of mangrove fringe; as a way of subsidizing the mitigating measures related to the containment of erosive processes in the study area. Through remote sensing images it was possible to make an analogy between the spectral characteristics of wetlands and vegetation areas (mangrove), showing the possibility to do a restoration of that area, contributing to the environmental monitoring of that ecosystem. Thus, the methodological strategy has established to December/2008 an area about 1,013 ha of sand-muddy banks, which of these approximately 89 ha viable to be used in a reforestation with the typical mangrove flora.
