Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the work context, the sleep schedules and quality, and daytime sleepiness of high school teachers of public school in the Trairi region of Rio Grande do Norte. For this, 61 teachers of both sexes (39.7 ± 9.2 years) filled an identification questionnaire; the work context evaluation scale, the Epworth sleepiness scale and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. The majority of the teachers classified the factors Working conditions and Work organization as critical/severe, while half of the study population considered Socio-professional relations as satisfactory. In addition, 69% of teachers had poor sleep quality and 49% had excessive daytime sleepiness. In relation to sex, poor sleep quality is present in 69% of both sexes, while excessive daytime sleepiness is more frequent in women (55%) than in to men (44%). Teachers' bedtime was on average at 11:26±1:25 p.m., the waking time at 6:06±1:16 p.m., and sleep duration was 6:10±1:07 p.m. Considering that working conditions and work organization were evaluated as critical / severe, and that teachers presented poor sleep quality and excessive daytime sleepiness, we emphasize the importance of this study to reinforce the need to discuss policy proposals aimed at this professional , which contribute to the improvement of the work environment and the worker's health.Acesso AbertoCondições de trabalhoDocenteSonoSaúde do trabalhadorAvaliação do contexto de trabalho, qualidade de sono e sonolência diurna de professores do ensino médio de escolas públicas no Rio Grande do NortemasterThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::SAUDE COLETIVA
