Relação dos fatores de virulência de Staphylococcus Coagulase Negativa novobiocina resistente e produção de biofilme. 2019. 48f. Trabalho de conclusão de curso (Graduação em Farmácia) - Departamento de Farmácia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2019.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/35772Coagulase negative Staphylococcus (CNS) have been recognized in recent years as important agents of nosocomial infections. These microorganisms have been presenting multiresistance due to the indiscriminate use of antimicrobials in hospitals, which makes it difficult to treat patients, causing a serious public health problem. The present study aimed to evaluate virulence factors and resistance profile of 24 strains resistant novobiocin SCN isolated from the hands of members of a Multiprofessional Health Residency program and Residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics of Maternidade Escola Januário Cicco (MEJC)/UFRN. This is a cross-sectional observational study. The resistance profile of the isolated strains was performed by the manual disk diffusion method, being the phenotyps MR-SCN and MSLB evaluated by the cefoxitin resistance test and Test D, respectively. Biofilm production was evaluated by adherence to 96-well flat-bottom plates and further reading by UV light spectrophotometer. The results showed that 83.3% of the strains showed resistance to at least one of the tested antimicrobials and 91.7% of them were biofilm producers at some level, being often classified as poorly producing. The MR-SCN and MSLB phenotypes were present in only 8% and 12.5% of the strains, respectively. A direct relationship between antimicrobial resistance and biofilm production was observed, evidenced by the multiresistance profile of the producing strains. The results obtained in this study corroborate the current literature and highlight the importance of knowing the main mechanisms of resistance and virulence of the CNS that are often underestimated.
