This study investigates the feasibility of the Photo-Fenton process for removing the dye Methylene Blue in a tubular reactor under UV irradiation, known as one of the Homogeneous Advanced Oxidative Processes. The methodology applied involved using an industrial dye as a degradation test and determining the specific operating conditions that ensured the effectiveness of the process. The main objective was to evaluate the capacity of Advanced Oxidative Processes in the degradation of methylene blue present in this sample. For the application of this experiment, the 2k Method was used to structure the experiments, such as the determination of the Planning and its experimental execution, the apparatus and color analysis procedure for the purposes of the results of this work. The degradation mechanism of Methylene Blue was attributed to the action of the hydroxyl radical (OH-), generated by the interaction between Fe2+ and H2O2 under the influence of irradiation, in which the experiment with the highest degradation showed a percentage of 91.93%Attribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/POAQuímica AmbientalCorantesDegradaçãoAzul de MetilenoAOPEnvironment ChemistryDegradationDyeMethylene BlueEstudo preliminar da degradação de azul de metileno em meio aquoso por processos oxidativos avançados homogêneosbachelorThesisCNPQ::ENGENHARIAS
