The study emphasizes the actions of President Getúlio Vargas’s government, particularly those of Minister of Education Gustavo Capanema, whose administration was marked by administrative centralization and the promotion of technical education as a tool for national development. Based on the analysis of the document Do Ensino Technico Profissional (1936), it is observed that female professional training was guided by a patriarchal logic that linked women’s education to domestic and caregiving roles. Female industrial schools provided access to education and work, but were associated with domestic values and morality, thereby limiting women’s participation to socially accepted spheres. Nevertheless, these institutions represented an initial space for women’s entry into the professional field.
