The study aims to understand the contribution and performance of evangelical churches in direct and indirect relationship with the teaching and learning of music, exposing the different conceptions about what music represents for someone who has their musical formation introduced in this environment. Through bibliographic research, the theoretical support is anchored in the concepts of formal, non-formal and informal music education. Thus, authors such as: Freitas (2008), Costa (2008), Arroyo (2000), Müller (2000); Prass (1998) and Libaneo (2000), as well as interviews with professional musicians who had their musical training in these churches, foster this work. The results show the relationship of certain musical practices in the cults and all this environment, with the search for a more systemic music education.
