It exposes the serious limitations of the public health sector and the contradictions related to the vast disparity in comparison to the well-equipped and less accessible private sector. The COVID-19 pandemic, as usual, has weighed more heavily, within the capitalist framework, on the shoulders of the poorer segments of the population and, consequently, on public hospitals. Observing closely and reflecting on the experiences, perceptions, and psychosocial conditions of the professionals on the front lines in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic is, especially in times of crisis, an endeavor of utmost importance. It allows us to consider conditions and strategies for the future to improve the working and service conditions for these professionals.
