Monografia (Graduação em Serviço Social) - Centro de Ciências Sociais Aplicadas, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2022.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/46359The work that has as its axis of analysis, Social Work and Indigenous Peoples, emerged from the identification of the emergence of the debate on the Rights of the Native Population of Brazil, in particular, the performance and essential role of Social Work in Social Assistance Policy. Its general objective is to problematize the actions that the Social Service develops in favor of the consolidation of the fundamental rights of Indigenous Peoples in the Social Assistance Policy and in the recognition and strengthening of the diversity of ethnicities and cultures. The methodology of the work was based on the survey and literature review, from which we sought to briefly address the history of the Brazilian indigenous population since the European invasion, through the post-colonial, dictatorial, constitutional and post-constitutional period, reaching the present day, portraying the Covid-19 pandemic (which started in 2020 in Brazil). We also deal with the Assistance Policy in Brazil, actions of the Federal Council of Social Service, of the State Councils, and finally, how Social Service activities are developed in CRAS and CREAS, emphasizing activities of popular mobilization, social control and cultural and identity. In this sense, we also carried out data collection in order to know the actions developed in favor of indigenous people, in the portals of CFESS and regional CRESS in the Northeast region.
