In this context, new strategies are thought aiming to provide conditions for it to happen satisfactorily. It is this scenario that the institutional diversification arise as one of these strategies, seeking to adapt the institutions the new demands arising from the expansion. This work aims to make an analysis of education in two cycles in UFRN, which is configured through the courses of Bachelor of Sciences and Technology and bachelor of Information Technology. For the attainment of this project, it was used documentary and bibliographic analysis, and collection institutes in databases that promote studies in the field of higher education, and the institutions and units involved. The study shows that institutional diversification is a process that has promoted several changes in the configuration of high education systems.
