Material and methods: this is a transversal and exploratory quantitative study, which examined the labelling of children formulae infants, marketed in four major supermarket chains and pharmacies of the city of Natal, RN in the period of August to October 2015. After collecting data, the labels were analyzed based on a check list composed by current legislation of these products (RDCs43 and 45), quantifying the number of compliance and non-compliance. For assessment of the agreement on classification of infant formulas, Kappa coefficient was calculated. Results: a total of 30 infant formulas were found for infants, of 4 different manufacturers. The classification of formulas was established by the manufacturer and by the research team. The comparison between the two classifications pointed a concordance in 60.0% of cases (n = 18), resulting in a Kappa coefficient of 0.348, corresponding to a weak agreement. None of the 30 formulas analyzed 100% managed. The dimension that had the highest average inadequacies (16.25%) was the 1 dimension, what information about the description of the product and who had lower average inadequacies was the size 2, which deals with information about the characteristics of composition and quality of the product (0.76%).
