The electrolytic zinc plating is one of the processes that has as objective the formation of a zinc conversion layer that will act as sacrificial metal when deposited on iron alloys, for example. The following paper presents the development of the project and the implementation of a new cyanide-free alkaline electrolytic electroplating section. The project covers from the informational phase, to the execution, addressing the feasibility of not using cyanide in the process, replacement of PVC by concrete in conjunction with isophthalic resin in the construction and lining of the tanks, reducing the number of baths without reducing the quality of the parts, selection and sizing of the material used in the process and in the bars.
