METHODS: Cross sectional, retrospective and analytical study, approved by the Research Ethics Committee (opinion No. 4,462,519). A survey of 34 medical records of patients followed at the HF outpatient clinic, with a functional diagnosis of vestibular dysfunction, was carried out using the Video Head Impulse Test (vHIT). Information was rescued from the anamnesis about gender, age, body mass index (BMI) and lifestyle habits were taken from the anamnesis, namely: smoking, alcohol consumption, diet, nutritional monitoring and regular practice of physical activity, in addition to the results of questionnaires, Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI) and Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire (MLHFQ). Data were submitted to inferential statistical analysis, using analysis of variance (ANOVA). RESULTS: There was a predominance of males and normal BMI. There was a statistical association between the emotional and total aspects of DHI and alcohol consumption. And yet, the emotional aspect of the MLHFQ with the maintenance of a balanced diet. Nutritional monitoring was associated with the emotional and general aspects of the MLHFQ and the emotional aspects of the DHI. The practice of regular physical activity was associated with the emotional aspect of the MLHFQ.
