The Thematic Unit consisted of classes on correspondence of writers and intellectuals as important sources of information / knowledge, or even constituent parts of his works. Based on this conception, envisioned the possibility of using a set of five letters that dealt with O Arado, of Zila Mamede, published in the book entitled Cartas de Drummond a Zila Mamede (1999), as motivating factor for studying Zila Mamede´s and Carlos Drummond de Andrade´s poems, linked to the issue of land. This study configures as an attempt to return to the literary text its rightful place in the mother tongue classes, which means, that the literary text can be, since the early years, read, analyzed and understood with all the peculiarities allowed of the texts of literature, including its contextual and intertextual relations.
