Through them you can make a parameter of the implications caused by toxic substances in aquatic biota. This project is to discover, through ecotoxicological tests, the degree of contamination by pollutants in two seasons in Barra do Cunhaú / RN. The importance of this project is due for this area housing an extensive mangrove; that works with nursery numerous species of aquatic organisms, including some economic value as fish and shellfish, in addition, the beach is a tourist area with great human presence, so you need to be aware if there is strong presence pollution in this region that may affect biodiversity addition of aquatic organisms, the health of tourists and local people. The collections based on standard NBR 15308: 2005, were held monthly from December 2013 to April 2014, in two points, one on the beach, under the influence of effluents of a shrimp hatchery, and the other, next to a dock of tourist boats in the estuary. The chronic toxicity tests using the Mysidopsis juniae been adapted the rules of the USEPA (2002). The choice of this type of test is because it has the ability to detect the considerable variations of chemical contaminants in the environment being studied, which may reflect the sexual maturation of mysids (M.juniae). The parameters analyzed in the samples collected were: mortality and fertility. The results indicate that the environmental samples collected from December 2013 to April 2014 had, in general, the quality of the samples being within the limits considered acceptable for their use.
