With the increase in chronic diseases, aging population, and limited hospital beds, Home Care has emerged as a viable solution for treating patients in the comfort of their own homes, providing safe and effective care. However, this model requires trained and skilled professionals to address the inherent challenges associated with the health of the individuals being cared for. In light of this situation, a thorough research was conducted to identify and evaluate the primary risks associated with the use of medical-hospital equipment in the context of Home Care. The results revealed that a significant portion of the identified risks was directly related to improper or incorrect utilization of these devices. In this context, Clinical Engineering plays a crucial role in risk management and team training, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of equipment use. To assist in risk management and mitigate technology-related hazards, as well as ensuring patient safety, specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have been developed for the proper use of equipment. Guided by the PDCA cycle, these SOPs have been formulated to provide ongoing training and guidance to professionals involved in home care. Thus, the aim is to ensure appropriate equipment use, maximize treatment effectiveness, and preserve the health and wellbeing of patients.
