Análise sedimentar de testemunhos por vibração em área de mangue no Campo Petrolífero de Serra (Macau/RN). 2021. 76 f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Geologia) - Departamento de Geologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2021.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/34385The present work was developed in a mangrove area of Campo de Serra oil field, in Macau, located on the northern coast of the State of Rio Grande do Norte. Based on sedimentological, mineralogical, compositional and geochemical studies of 12 cores collected by the method of vibracore in a mangrove environment, through a comparative analysis of the parameters between a reference area (ARM) and an area with potential alteration, infer about the possible environmental change in the mangrove field (CM) around Campo de Serra oil field (Macau, RN). Three cores (ARM-A, ARM-B, ARM-C) were collected in a selected area for being well preserved and away from any anthropic interference and with a natural dynamic environment, called the mangrove reference area (ARM). The cores were initially photographed and profiled by coregama (Gamma rays), followed by macroscopic descriptions from the top to the bottom; properties such as color, grain size, sedimentary structures and presence of organic matter were observed. Subsequently, laboratory analyzes were carried out with decarbonation and burning of organic matter to obtain the levels of carbonate and organic matter, respectively, as well as grain size analyzes by wet and dry sieving. These studies were repeated in the mangrove field cores (CM1-A, CM1-B, CM1-C, CM2-A, CM2-B, CM2-C, CM3-A, CM3-B and CM3-C). From the integration, analysis and interpretation of the data, it was possible to identify that the two areas show significant similarity, marked by the presence of deposit of the tidal plain with two facies, muddy and sandy, related respectively to intertidal and supratidal. Small divergences were observed only in 2 parameters, grain size and carbonate content in CM2, which was not shown to be sufficient to affirm that the environment was subjected to an atypical change, either natural or anthropic, since the region is extremely dynamic, with high energy events, which allow the concentration of bioclasts, and in turn are related to a higher carbonate content and a predominance of slightly coarser grain size.
