In this context, the present study aims to analyze and compare the economic-financial performance of the main companies in the sector listed on the Brazilian stock exchange (B3) during the period from 2019 to 2024. The study was based on a descriptive and quantitative research methodology, through the analysis of liquidity, leverage, and profitability indicators, in addition to horizontal and vertical analyses applied to the companies' financial statements. It should be noted that the scope of this analysis is limited to publicly available financial statements, whose data may reflect a diversity of segments within the companies and may not be restricted solely to the distribution activity. Therefore, the conclusion is that while operating in the same market, the companies employed distinctly different strategies.
