In Low-Income Housing Projects (LIHP), characteristics such as repeatability, limited time-frames and number of units make production scheduling a decisive step in the development's results. The Production System Design (PSD) has the role of organizing the production system and structuring its resources so as to be manageable. Thus, planning becomes a gainful stage in the development of projects. Also, construction information modeling emerges as an important ally in production management. Previous studies indicate a congruence between the two themes. However, these researches are, so far, incipient, approaching interactions between PSD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) implicitly and not clearly presenting the relationship between the two. Our research proposes a method for developing the PSD of Low-Income Housing Projects with support for BIM processes. The study used as a research method the Design Science Research. The result presents the method for preparing the Production System with the support of BIM in the context of the Social Interest Housing Developments. This is presented through an exchange process map, in which the company's sectors are represented on the vertical axis, the enterprise’s development on the horizontal axis and the activities involved located in the information flow lines. As contributions, the artifact can help adoption of PSD and BIM; describes the activities involved in the process; identifies their respective deliverables; defines implementation requirements and suggests other potential opportunities for integration between the two areas of interest.Acesso AbertoSistemas de produçãoProjeto de produçãoPSPBIMEHISmasterThesis
