Thus, the object of investigation is LABORDOC itself. We seek to know its trajectory, its collection and its characterization as a Documentation Center. We also aim to analyze the uses and users of LABORDOC, considering it as a space for safeguarding a documentary patrimony that preserves memories and produces representations about the seridoense sertões through historiographic practice. For that, we dialogued with Paes (1997), Tessitore (2003) and Belloto (2006), Halbwachs (1950), Bosi (2003), Candau (2011), Choay (2014) and Chartier (1990) to think on the concepts of documentation center, document, archive, background, documentary patrimony, memories and representations. Furthermore, our sources are bibliographical, and to analyze them, we rely on Roger Chartier's conceptual scheme: appropriation, representation and circulation.
