A notação não convencional como facilitador de aprendizado em aulas de teclado para pessoas com deficiência intelectual: um relato de experiência. 2022. 41 f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Licenciatura em Música), Escola de Música, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2022.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/48544The present work describes a way of teaching music that used alternative musical writing for a student diagnosed with mental retardation, also known as intellectual disability. The objective of this research was to describe how was the learning and development of the student, diagnosed with intellectual disability, who had never had contact with musical techniques, using the teaching method of unconventional notation. This is a descriptive study, of the experience report type, carried out from the experience as a keyboard teacher to a student with intellectual disabilities. The research was carried out in the context of private lessons, in my Home Studio, for a period of six months. The student had a weekly class, each class lasting 1 hour. In view of the specific needs of the student, it was necessary to analyze the existing methods for the piano and select those that would meet the demand of the classes. In this way, several methods were used, seeking to meet the needs and specificity of the student, considering the main subjects for the initiation to piano teaching. According to what was observed during the research, it was perceived that it is extremely important to mention that the teaching/learning of unconventional musical notation is very important for people with intellectual disabilities. It could be seen how significant this method was for the student, enabling their musical development. When developing the research, it was also noticed how important the figure of the music educator is for the realization of adaptations, construction of resources and didactic materials aiming at a better learning and understanding of the subjects covered during the classes. It was also evident that the exposure of unconventional notation to the student made it possible for him to better understand the process of creation and execution, parts that are fundamental for making music in general.
