Plots in floodplain and non-floodplain forests, subdivided into mature and disturbed areas, were examined to identify the variables shaping the species' dynamics. The objectives were to identify these variables and understand the interaction between environmental and human factors affecting the recruitment, growth, and reproduction of the species, aiming to provide insights for management and conservation strategies. The study revealed that the recruitment of E. precatoria in floodplain forests depends on safe sites, such as non-flooded islands, due to the high seedling mortality in these environments. In contrast, clearings with higher light incidence in non-floodplain forests were identified as favorable for the growth and survival of seedlings and juveniles. Negative density-dependence was observed, where high seedling and juvenile density resulted in lower survival and growth. Competition with woody trees negatively impacted growth and fruit production, as evidenced by lower growth rates in areas with high tree density. The intensification of açaí cultivation, in turn, created favorable environments for the survival and reproduction of the species.
