In this context, the present monograph entitled "SELF-TRAINING: REFLECTION OF PROSPECTS AND ACTION IN TEACHING PRACTICE" objective discuss the self-training process by identifying how teachers define what knowledge have on the subject, as it is experienced by teachers, contributing to the practices of the classroom and (re)construction of knowledge and skills. Considering the realization of this study, we chose the qualitative approach of field research, using questionnaires to build the information about the subjects chosen for research: elementary school teachers (1st to 5th grade). Therefore, the instrument was implemented in four school institutions in the municipality of Acari/RN, with a total of 17 participating teachers. The ideas of Dewey (1959), Schon (2000), Alarcão (2011), Perrenoud (2000), Maciel (2003) and others were used as theoretical references.
