Thus, it is of great importance to understand the methods underpinning the activities employed by public administration, such as the bidding process in the form of the electronic auction modality. This study aims to highlight the benefits of electronic auctions in public procurement, with a specific focus on the municipality of Jardim do Seridó-RN.In this context, the aim is to highlight the main contributions resulting from its use in the aforementioned municipality, including its efficiency, procedural speed and flexibility, as well as bureaucratic and financial reduction, alongside greater transparency. The theoretical foundation of this study was based on a bibliographic review of relevant works by renowned authors in the field, such as Niebuhr (2020) and Oliveira (2019). Additionally, legislation and materials available from online sources were consulted to provide a comprehensive view of the topic.In the empirical research sphere, results obtained through interviews conducted with staff working in the procurement sector of the municipality were also incorporated.
