We take as the object of study one school of Rio Grande state education network, it is understood institutions that emerged in the municipality of Luís Gomes. Therefore, conversations were held with the school director, as well as bibliographical research and reading of documents present at the school. In this perspective, the study discusses aspects referents to democratic school management and assignment of the school manager, end federal, and state government programs that benefit the school. The present research was based on the work of (Prodanov and Freytas) with general objective understanding the role of the manager in a state school in the municipality of Luís Gomes, in Rio Grande do Norte. Equally important, the specific objectives seek to analyze the school’s devolvement and the government programs that support it. During our analysis on the study, we relied are based by Paro (2006), and Luck (2009; 2012;), theorists who work address the topic in question. Despite the numerous studies about this topic is still a need for further research and a continuous dialogue reading the democratization of education.
