Periostite após uso prolongado de PGE1 em recém-nascidos com cardiopatia congênita cianótica: relatos de casos. 2020. 22 f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Farmácia) - Departamento de Farmácia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2020.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/35812Objective: Describe two cases of periostitis following prolonged use of prostaglandin E1 (PGE1), a rare and potentially serious complication of an adverse drug reaction. Case description: Two term newborns diagnosed with cyanotic congenital heart disease. In use of PGE1 for approximately 20 days, edema in the lower limbs and hyperthermia was noted. Radiological evaluation showed periostitis in long bones in both cases. Comments: Periostitis is one of the rare adverse reactions to the use of PGE1. The most frequent complication is the formation of limb edema, accompanied by muscle stiffness and pain. The most frequently affected bones are the long bones, ribs, shoulder blades and clavicles. The prognosis is generally good, disappearing within six to twelve months after drug withdrawal, apparently with no consequences for future bone growth.Recém-NascidoAlprostadilPeriostite;Efeitos ColateraisReações Adversas Relacionadas a MedicamentosPeriostite após uso prolongado de PGE1 em recém-nascidos com cardiopatia congênita cianótica: relatos de casosPeriostitis after prolonged use of PGE1 in newborns with congenital cyanotic heart disease: case reportsbachelorThesis
