Within this context, the ludic activities are configured as a pedagogical tool of great importance, as it leads the child to a situation where the imagination flourishes and helps in the process of development and learning and that are part of children's daily life. In this sense, the present proposal seeks to understand the importance of playfulness, play and play in the process of teaching and learning in early childhood education? With the general objective of instigating and presenting reflections on the benefits and importance of playfulness in the teaching and learning process in early childhood education. In order to achieve its objectives, a bibliographic survey was developed based on material already elaborated, consisting mainly of course papers, books and scientific articles, published and available in the electronic databases: scielo, cape periodicals portal, digital library of monographs and google scholar. The relevance of playfulness, play and play as an essential factor for the full development of the child in early childhood education was evidenced, considering that, through playful activities in the classroom, the child develops his self-esteem and creativity.
