It is through information access that individuals obtain necessary resources to promote a more meaningful dialogue between society and the State. This research aims to study the characteristics related to the social control of information within the International Labor Organization (ILO). Specifically it deals with the process of monitoring the implementation of Convention No. 100 that relates to Equal Remuneration for Men and Women Workers for Work of Equal Value. It seeks to answer the following research problem: Is the social control of information in Brazil achieved through cooperation between social partners and the government? and does it favor the effective application of the consolidated principles in the fundamental convention No.100?. The hypothesis defended in the research is that both social partners and Brazilian government, contribute to the process of monitoring the convention implantation carried out by the ILO Experts Committee, once they provide information regarding the convention´s current situation by means of periodical reporting. The general objective of the study is to identify, comprehend and describe the characteristics of the social control of information in the production and systematization of information, related to convention No.100 in the Brazilian setting. As for specific research objectives, the research aims to a) analyze ILO Committee´s comments sent to Brazil on Convention 100 throughout a ten-year period (2009-2019) b) identify the actors involved in the process of social control of information; c) understand the informational content peculiarities in the monitoring process, The methodology used was of inductive method, documental and bibliographical research approach regarding data collection, as well as historical approach and case study.
